The Good, Bad & Ugly

The Good, Bad & Ugly

The Good: It is the 23rd of December and Christmas is just around the corner. It is time to forget about the markets for a few days and take time to be with family, friends and loved ones. MarketsFarm wishes you and yours the best of the holiday season! There is all sorts of good about the Christmas season so enjoy it to the fullest.

The Bad: I always wondered what it would be like to spend Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere, when it is the height of summer rather than the winter. In Argentina they are taking the summer Christmas to an extreme! The forecast for Buenos Aires this Christmas is calling for temperatures to reach 36C on Christmas Day. No need for ugly sweaters this Christmas in Argentina!

The Ugly: When you are putting together Santa’s list please add a White Christmas to the list. The moisture so far in December has been well below normal in most areas of the Prairies. A decent amount of snow is needed to help turn the drought situation around in 2022. Snow is not going to solve all of the dryness caused by more than two years of drought. Farmers in Western Canada would like a little more than a lump of coal for Christmas!
