The weather this weekend should be nearly ideal for planting activity across Western Canada, although some scattered showers today and Sunday may cause some minor delays. Temperatures today and tomorrow are expected to reach the mid teens to low 20s. We are getting off to a good start this morning with overnight lows in Saskatchewan and Alberta mostly in the mid single digits. Cooler weather should push back into the Prairies on Sunday, but highs will remain close to or above average. Precipitation amounts are expected to be light from two small systems moving across the Prairies today and Sunday. the heaviest amounts are expected in northern growing areas of Western Canada.
The long term forecast for the middle of May is still calling for temperatures to remain close to normal.
